right now. a police chase that ended with the dramatic car crash in oakland just a few hours ago. six people rushed to the hospital as we just got word that one of the passengers, they have died. ktvu alex savage is live for us, including the man hunt underway right now. alex? >> reporter: police at this point are looking for the driver of the suv, but i also want to tell you here that the sergeant on scene, they have confirmed toney a 19-year-old man was killed in this crash here. he was a passenger inside this stolen suv you're looking at right now. it was being chased this morning by chp officers. the suv was packed with eight people inside, coming down this hill when the driver lost control and slammed into a tree. here was the scene around 3:30 this morning here on the drive in oakland. paramedics transported six passengers with various injuries. one of them later died. the pursue all began when police tried topping this suv when the driver of the suv took off. chp officers picked up the pursuit on the freeway in oakland. it's unclear if alcohol was involved here, but the sergean

a developing story out of oakland where right now police are still searching for two men who they say shot an undercover police officer. this happened just after 6:00 last night on the 1700 block of seminary ave. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. so far they have managed to detain one person possibly who is connected to the shooting. officer was shot suffered " non " life- threatening injuries. >> it is 12 hours after the shooting and officers are still here. they are collecting evidence and they're not necessarily going door-to-door but reportedly one of the suspects dropped their gun and all three of them fled the same. we do know what this point that there is this what bioko out here and they will be here for quite a while. they are not tell me how much longer that will continue to be here. a lot of people in this neighborhood are frustrated because they're not able to walk past the yellow tape to get to their homes. >> i have just learned that the oakland police department's stated that this story is so huge because an officer was shot. they will hold a new

to recover this morning after he was shot by a suspect in oakland. that officer was one of two responding to a two-car crash when they heard gunshots near the intersection of 49th avenue and east 12th street. this all happened right around 6:00 last night. police say the officers found a man with a gun and that man began to fire at them hitting one officer. the other officer shot but missed the suspect. both officers continued to chase the suspect and were ultimately able to arrest him nearby. the injured officer is a 13-year veteran of the force and is in stable condition this morning. investigators are trying to figure out if the suspect is somehow related to the initial car crash. this is the second time an oakland police officer has been shot in just five days. monday night a little over a mile away on the 1700 block of seminary avenue an undercover police officer working on a sunday shooting was also shot. police made five arrests in connection with that officer-involved shooting and they say they won't stop until everyone involved is held responsible. >> when someone is so bold and
